Consumer Product Testing
Due to customer requests Benchmark Laboratories LLC expanded into chemical testing to offer testing for hazardous metals, such as lead and others, and phthalates. With our accreditation to ISO 17025 and approval by CPSIA in 2011 we are now positioned to meet each client's testing and certification requirements for CPSIA.
Benchmark Laboratories LLC has the capability to test for many hazardous metals, whether you are meeting the American CPSIA requirements for lead testing, various states' additional requirements to test for cadmium or chromium, the European Union RoHS requirements for testing of lead, chromium, cadmium and mercury, European Union EN-71 toy standards, or California Prop 65.
The industry standard for hazardous metals testing is the Inductively Coupled Plasma Spectrometer (ICP). Our Perkin-Elmer ICP is state-of-the-art and capable of testing for your metals requirement in the parts per million (ppm) range.
Benchmark also has the capability to test for phthalates and other organics using our industry standard Agilent Gas Chromatograph-Mass Selective Detector (GC-MS). The CPSIA regulates six phthalates, namely dibutyl phthalate(DBP), di-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), benzyl butyl phthalate(BBP), di-n-octyl phthalate (DnOP), diisononyl phthalate (DINP), and diisodecyl phthalate (DIDP).
If you are not sure what test you need call or email or use the contact us form below and we will discuss it with you.
